Darren Foxwell Obituary TRAPPE, Md. — The community of Easton and Talbot County is grieving the tragic loss of 18-year-old Darren Foxwell, a recent graduate of Easton High School, following a devastating single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning near Chloras Point Road and Claylands Road in Trappe.
According to the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched around 4:30 a.m. to the scene of a serious accident. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a severely damaged vehicle located approximately 150 yards off the roadway, the result of what appeared to be multiple rollovers.
The driver, identified as Ellis Newcomb, also 18 and from Easton, reportedly declined medical treatment at the scene. Authorities say the passenger, now identified as Darren Foxwell, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries.
Foxwell was initially transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton and then transferred to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was placed on life support. According to statements from family members, despite exhaustive efforts by medical professionals, Darren’s injuries were ultimately deemed non-survivable.
In a heartbreaking message shared publicly, Darren’s family wrote, “The reports are true, and we are still in a state of shock. There really aren’t words to describe what we are feeling at the moment. Our beautiful son, brother, nephew, and grandson, Darren Foxwell, was involved in a very serious accident. He is now on life support with no chance of survival. This beautiful boy, who grew into the most handsome young man I’ve ever seen, is going to die.”
Darren was remembered by those who knew him as a kind, spirited, and deeply loved young man. Friends, classmates, and educators from Easton High School are mourning the sudden and tragic loss, with many taking to social media to share tributes and memories.
The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest high speed and the absence of seatbelt usage may have been contributing factors, although official findings have yet to be released.
As the Easton community grapples with this immense loss, Darren’s loved ones are asking for privacy and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Funeral and memorial service details will be announced by the family in the coming days. Darren Foxwell’s life, though tragically brief, left an indelible mark on those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished, and his absence deeply felt.
