LEWISVILLE, TX — A devastating boating accident at Lewisville Lake has claimed the life of Christy Dang, a beloved student and softball player at Creekview High School. Her body was recovered Thursday afternoon, June 19, following a multi-day search by local authorities and recovery teams.
The tragic incident began on June 17, when a boat was found beached near the shore of Lewisville Lake with no one onboard. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens responded to the scene and immediately launched a search for two missing boaters — a man and a woman — believed to have been aboard.
Search efforts intensified over the following days, with assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Texas Game Warden Underwater Search and Recovery Team, who deployed advanced sonar equipment to scan the vast lake area. The male victim’s body was recovered Wednesday morning, and the woman’s body — now identified as Christy Dang — was located Thursday afternoon.
